Before and after
Before: Three jobs for every estimate
Counting fixtures off a plan, pricing them and writing up the scope were three separate pieces of work, done in three places, by hand.
We built one app for the whole estimate.
The count on the plan becomes the estimate, and the estimate becomes the scope and the work order.
After: Count once, price once
An estimate can start on site from a phone and finish at the desk, priced from the company's own catalog, in its own format.
What we built
Takeoffs on the plan
Fixtures are stamped straight onto the PDF floor plan and counted as they go.
An estimate builder
Items, quantities and the company's own prices, laid out in its own format.
A two-step phone wizard
On a phone, a new estimate skips the desk setup and starts with the address and the customer.
Scope of work and work orders
The estimate produces the scope and a field-ready work order from the same lines.
Address lookup
Addresses fill in as you type, limited to the area the company works in.
Worth knowing
Later moved inside the CRM
The takeoff and estimating pages were later built into the company's CRM, so a takeoff becomes the estimate and the estimate becomes the job.
